Post Office Field Trip
January 23, our troop toured the Fairfax Post Office.
We spoke to several postal workers and carriers.
We saw them sort mail by route, then by individual addresses.
One of the carriers said it is like playing "Concentration" or
memory games.
We learned how the mail carriers have to be safe in their vehicle
and walking the route.
We each got to hold an empty mail bag, and looked at a full one...
but it was too heavy for us to lift!
All of the workers in the Post Office wanted us to give them
Girl Scout Cookies, but they haven't come in yet.
As we were leaving, we each received a coloring book with stamps
to create and color; a pen; a ruler; a sticker; and a lollipop.
Yum!
